As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this very large Meiji period 1868-1912 bronze okimono depicting a prowling Tiger on its original bronze stand, the Tiger striding purposefully his facial expression showing a somewhat aggressive determination to seek his quarry, his stripes boldly delineated in relief , the en suite bronze base cleverly patinated to give the contrasting effect of a rugged terrain, the base nicely stamped with the artists seal that translates to read Takahashi Ryoun, a large and dramatic okimono for your Japanese themed room or just as an addition to your Japanese bronze collection.
