Description

Evidently captured during a rehearsal or a performance, these two drawings depicting a conductor and a singer have a rare energy, musicality and immediacy to them. Signed, dated November 1918, and situated "Cottbus" , a city near the Polish border in Brandenburg,; the two works of art presented in a single frame. I have sadly not. been able to identify the signature.

Drawn in graphite, the drawings measure 20 x 15 cm each. The overall size in a period frame is 55 x 27 cm
