Description

It is interesting how this work by Geneviève Marie Lesbaudy (1904-1985) is both timeless and very much art deco in style. Very fresh in terms of both condition and execution, it is a snapshot of the impressions of a young woman artist abroad in the early 20th Century.

Lesbaudy, a Frenchwoman born in Paris, exhibited notably at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts in the 1930s, and specialised in working on paper.

Our gouache painting measures 12 x 20 cm at sight under the mount. The overall framed size (with considerable wear and tear to the gilding) is 26 x 33 cm.
