A decorative oil on canvas landscape scene. The view is that of figures walking on heathland just reaching a crossroad. The piece is beautifully painted in thick impasto paint with a bold layered use of colour, particularly where indicating the gorse and heather. There is no signature to the work which is unusual for a piece of such obvious ability. The painting is in good untouched condition with some minor craquelure to the thick oil paint. The frame is probably the original with later overgilding. The whole has a great decorative look and is ready to hang.
