Large Still Life Oil Painting ‘Jam Making’

A large and fine oil on canvas still life depicting jam making ingredients and equipment. The painting shows a large kitchen table set with crisp white tablecloth on which are copious strawberries spilling from a copper jam pan while to the side are clean glass jam jars. The quality of the work is very fine and typically French in the impressionist manner. The painting is signed to the lower right ‘Yvonne Salomon’ an artist who lived 1917-2018. The painting has been professionally cleaned and holes repaired. The work is mounted in a large and heavy nineteenth century gilt frame in great untouched condition with only some minor repairs. The whole is of a large and dramatic size and has a great decorative impact and has a look much earlier than the date of the painting C.1940.
