A fine quality oil on Flemish board portrait of a gentleman. The work is beautifully done with fine detail and wonderfully captures the character of the sitter. The painting does not appear to be signed though it is dark at the edges and a signature would be easily lost. The work has been professionally cleaned and is excellent condition just the odd mark. The wonderful quality gilt frame is the original and in excellent untouched condition with a few minor repairs. The whole has the look of a great country house and is ready to hang.
