Fine Dutch Interior Scene Oil Painting

A fine quality Dutch interior scene oil on canvas. The painting is most likely a nineteenth century copy of a Dutch Golden Age original such as those by Pieter de Hooch. The painting is very competently done and is a great example of the type. It is not signed as copyist work often is not and was most likely painted by the artist whilst seated before the original work probably in this country. The painting is in good condition with a couple of very minor tears professionally repaired some time ago. The painting is in the original gilt frame with silvered slip which is in good worn untouched condition. The whole has a great period look and is ready to hang. C.1880.
