Arthur Reginald Smith "The Cloud" Watercolour

1900 - 1920
Description

Arthur Reginald Smith was born in Skipton-in-Craven, Yorkshire, and grew up in Threshfield. He studied art at Keighley School of Art and spent his holidays sketching. He then attended the Royal College of Art (1901-4), and was awarded a travel scholarship which enabled him to travel to Italy in 1906. He exhibited at such leading London venues as the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, and other public and private galleries.

"The Cloud" is a wonderful example of his watercolour painting and is signed lower right. It is in the original mount and is framed with a nice old label on the back giving details on the painter.
