Email: info@williamgreenwoodfineart.co.uk J.Alfonso Toft, English 1866-1964. He was a British landscape artist. He was the son of Charles Toft and was born in the Birmingham suburb of Handsworth. He came from a family of Staffordshire pottery artists. His father was a principal modeller for Wedgwood pottery from 1876–88 and also an artist. His brother was the sculptor Albert Toft. He studied at the Birmingham and Hanley Schools of Art winning a scholarship for further study at the Royal College of Art.

His Exhibiting address was Trafalgar Studios, Chelsea, London. Exhibited extensively at many Galleries including: Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham, Bruton Galleries, Chenil Galleries, Fine Art Society, Glasgow Institute, Goupil Gallery, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, London Salon, Manchester City Art Gallery, New Gallery, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and Walker's Gallery. His Museum exhibits are in: National Museum of Wales, Caernarvon Castle, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Ludlow Castle, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Windsor Castle, Royal Collection Trust, University of Hull Art Collection, Potteries Museum & Art Gallery.
