Bessie Bamber was a British artist from Birkenhead, active between 1900 and 1910. She was a prolific painter of cats and kittens, this being a superb example of her work, being an oil on milk glass. An exquisite example, unusual to see her paintings feature so many kittens, five in this case. Initialled lower right, BB and dated 1907. beautifully reframed with new high quality period style swept gilt frame with non reflective museum glass.
