An immensely poetic surrealist work by the French artist Louis Nahi.

Born in Nantes in Brittany in 1938, Nahi moved to Lille in the North of France in 1962 and has become known as an artist from Flanders. This is interesting since his work, especially early paintings such as ours, are inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean, where Nahi toured museum in a quest to better understand art history. His travel imparted him with a love of the Renaissance period, which can be subtly felt.

Exhibiting for the first time in 1959, the work presented here dates from the 1960s.

Measuring 92 x 65 cm, the artwork looks stunning as it is, unframed.
