He became known for high quality Greek and Egyptian style clocks and bronzes. He exhibited at many international exhibitions and was awarded a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1867. He was awarded France's highest honour, the Legion d'Honneur in 1874. Signed GS to the back with a central bee motif. France, circa 1885.
