Good quality pair of late 19th Century Grand Tour patinated bronze library busts of Antinous, as Dionysus, and Ariadne on turned ebonised wood socles by Georges Emile Henri Servant, after the original pairing by Leone Clerici in Rome in 1882. Georges Emile Henri Servant (1828-1890) was a French horologer who in 1855 took control of his fathers foundry in Paris. He became known for high quality Greek and Egyptian style clocks and bronzes. He exhibited at many international exhibitions and was awarded a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1867. He was awarded France''s highest honour, the Legion d''Honneur in 1874.
