Collection Of Seven Animal Drawings

Attributed to John Macallan Swan RA 1847-1910. Swan studied at several art schools before attending London’s Royal Academy from 1872, he subsequently trained in Paris and also became a successful sculptor. Animal studies where a passion from childhood, especially big cats, and it is where he distinguished himself. He became a full academic of the RA in 1905. These seven animal studies are a mixture of ink, chalk and pastel on paper and are all housed in various different antique frames. The largest drawing is 25 x 23, the smallest 9x15 cm exclusive of frames. Late 19th century.
