A fascinating depiction a young androgynous figure with wistful eyes, who is wearing a fabulous headdress. Audaciously, the painting is almost entirely painted in shades of red. French in origin, the artwork is dated (19)20 and has a trace of signature at the lower left/centre, which I have however not been able to decipher.

The painting measures 46 x 33 cm and is presented in a period frame that has signs of wear and repair. The overall framed size is 55 x 41 cm.
