Henry MAIDMENT (1868-1942):

A good gilt framed oil on canvas painting entitled ‘Stepping Stones’ which depicts a mother (carrying basket) and her child approaching stepping stones over a stream. There is a church spire in the background.

Indistinctly signed with a monogram (HM) lower left corner and dated 1909.

Henry MAIDMENT (1868-1942) was an Islington based painter of rustic landscapes, usually featuring village folk going about their everyday business. He was brother-in-law to Octavius Thomas Clark.
