Fine quality Regency period oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman. The portrait is typical half length with the sitter looking to the left. The man is dressed in a dark jacket with a high collared white shirt and cravat. The painting is in good untouched condition with a few minor old repairs. The painting is not signed which is not unusual for portraits of the period, however the quality of the artist is quite evident. The work is framed in a good nineteenth century frame with all original gilding. The whole has a great period decorative look and is ready to hang.
