This is a beautiful 19th century hand coloured woodblock print by Utagawa Kunisada 1786-1865. Kunisada was the most popular and successful artist of ukiyo-e wood block prints in 19th century Japan. In his own time his reputation far exceeded that of his contemporaries, Hokusai Hiroshige and Kuniyoshi. The woodblock depicts a beauty preparing a picnic in traditional dress.

This is in an attractive smart dark wooden frame that suit it admirably.

The frame measures 53 cms by 43 cms.
