A pair of pastoral oil paintings on canvas board, housed in their original oval, water and oil gilt frames. Both are in lovely original condition. Continental probably French they are in distinctly signed and dated 1859. Competent hand with nice areas of impasto brushwork. Good use of trees to frame the scenes, matched with branches overhanging from opposite sides of each painting.
