A ink wash drawing heightened with white, depicting Windsor Castle and Eton Bridge. Inscribed by the artist "Chateau de Windsor", the artwork is drawn on French laid paper with the Canson and Mongolfier watermark “Viallon des Annanoy”

Dating from circa 1870-1880 the drawing has a lovely and interesting early Impressionist touch. I have not been able to decipher the artist's signature (ch(arles) M...). It is likely to have been painted by one of the French émigré artists who came to London during the Siege of Paris.

With minor wear around the edges, the artwork measures 21.5 x 28.5 cm at sight. Presented in an interesting leaf gold frame with rounded edges and a later mount. Overall framed size: 36 x 45 cm.
