Description

A beautiful mid-19th-century British school portrait of a lady wearing a ruby necklace and bracelets. It dates to around 1860 when ladies styled their hair into side coils and wore floral bonnets positioned towards the back of the head.

We purchased the painting from Wales and the sitter could be of Welsh descent.

Overall size: 27” x 36” / 69cm x 91cm

Year of creation: c. 1860

Provenance: England

Condition: Very presentable with areas of light craquelure.
