English Naive School painting on panel of a fashionable equestrian lady in hunting attire, circa 1830
Signed J Lemon or Lermott.
Seated side saddle on a dappled grey hunter, with fine gold and scarlet tasselled saddle cloth.
She wears a cream satin lined green velvet riding habit with gigot sleeves, black topper with trailing lace veil.
Painted in oils on a wooden panel, the back with glued wooden strips and sacking.
Labels on the back indicate this was a ''Coach door panel from the family stable, 19th century''
The smart graphic layout styled on an armorial crest, on a green ground lends truth to this testimony.
In very good sound condition, tight hairline from the left side, chipped corner.
16,1/2'' x 15,1/2'' or 42cm x 39.5cm panel thickness 5/16'' or 8mm, weight 940 grams.
