Superb Set Of Four Georgian Shakespeare Prints

A wonderful set of four large Georgian prints relating to Shakespeare. The four prints are in excellent condition and have been framed in modern frames and mounts probably about twenty years ago. The prints were published by John Boydell who at the end of the eighteenth century wanted to capitalise on the great Shakespeare revival of the time. He opened a gallery in London on the Pall Mall and commissioned many great artists of the period to create paintings inspired by the works of Shakespeare to hang in the gallery. The paintings commissioned for the gallery were all engraved as prints of which these are fine examples. The four are:
