Fine Oil Painting of the White Cliffs of Dover

A fine and charming oil on canvas coastal scene with the White Cliffs of Dover in the distance. A beautifully composed and worked painting of fine detail, particularly the mother and child in the foreground. The painting is not signed but must have been by a professional artist clearly just by the quality of the work alone. The lack of a signature is a bit of a mystery but does not detract from the quality of the painting. The painting is in excellent untouched condition and is in the original gilt frame. The frame is in good untouched condition with the original gilding and only some very minor touching in. The whole has a great decorative look and depicts a wonderful subject, it is ready to hang. C.1900.
