We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A chrystoleum is a late 19th-century process where a photographic print was mounted face-down onto convex glass, translucentised with wax or oil, and painted from behind to create depth and vibrant colour.

These artworks consist of a curved glass sheet, a paper photographic base transparentised with oils, oil-based paints applied to the reverse, and a secondary glass or card backing to protect the image.

Authentic pieces exhibit a distinct convex glass surface, layered paint visible only from behind, period binding around the edges, and subtle surface aged characteristics typical of late Victorian production.

Place the framed print above a sideboard or console table, integrated within a gallery wall of period artwork, or paired with brass lighting fixtures to complement dark wall tones.

Dust the exterior frame gently with a dry microfibre cloth, display away from direct sunlight and moisture sources, and avoid applying liquid glass cleaners directly to the surface.
