Sawrey Gilpin "Hawking" Old Engraving

Description

This engraving by T. Morris, "Hawking" was published Oct 1st 1780 at "28 in the Hay Market". It measures 15"x 21" and is framed in a good simple period gilt frame giving an overall size of 20"x 23". It is inscribed below "To the Noblemen and Gentlemen of the Falconer's Club...." and represents a true scene that happened a few miles from York and shows the falconer Colonel Thornton out hawking with his horse.
