A fine oil on oak panel landscape painting dating to the late Georgian period. The work is extremely finely painted and shows a typically Romantic Arcadian landscape with waterfall in the foreground and a town fading into the haze in the background. The painting does not appear to be signed but is typical of the fanciful imagined landscapes of this period. The work has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. The painting is mounted in the original frame with all original untouched gilding. The whole has a wonderful great country house decorative look and is ready to hang. C.1820.
