Frederick Walker 1840-1875 ARA, social realist painter. This diminutive oil on panel typifies this style, inscribed on verso “returning from the Hop Garden No22”. Housed in a Florentine, carved and gilt wood frame, overall dimensions including frame 22 x 26 x 4 cams.examples in The Met and The Tate museums.
