J.f.herring "The Mothers" Set of 4 Old Prints

Description

Fore's "Series of the Mothers" were a charming group of antique engravings published in 1854 and 1855. Here we offer four from the series of original colour aquatints after J.F.Herring, plates 3,5,7 and 8 each measure 14"x 17" and are framed in simple old oak frames giving an overall size of 15"x 18" for each picture. "Duck & Ducklings", "Sow and pigs", "Draught Mare & Foal" and "Cow & Calf" are fine quality aquatints by J.Harris and W.Summers. Below is the inscription "C. Quentery, London Published 1854 & 5 by Fores, 41, Piccadilly".
