Description

A beautiful impressionistic landscape painting by French painter, Claude-Marie Reignier (1870-1954). It’s believed to be a view in Lyon where he often worked.

It’s very likely that Reignier painted this ‘en plein air’ (outside) while sat with his brushes admiring the view. Reignier often chose to paint using oils on paper, which would’ve made it easier for him to transport his equipment. He’s known to have painted around the areas of Lyon and The Dauphiné in Southwestern France, so perhaps he lived in this region.

The painting is housed within a gilded frame and glazed. Signed in the lower left.

Provenance: France

Condition: Very presentable. Frame with light age-related wear.
