A fascinating portrayal of a Londoner, as seen by an anonymous French artist visiting the Capital in 1851. It is likely that our anonymous visiting artist was in England to view the Great Exhibition.

The drawing is mysterious - who is its subject ? A tradesman? An official? And most importantly: why is he carrying two blankets?

Situated "Londres" at the lower left, the artwork measures 18 x 10 cm. Well framed, the overall size is 26 x 16.5 cm
