Description

A fine early 20th-century portrait of a standing nude by British painter, Sidney Byers. It feels a little more sensual than you tend to find with many studio nudes so perhaps he knew the model.

Byers was represented at the Royal Academy in the Summer of 1943 and 1944.

The portrait is housed within a good maple frame.

Medium: Oil on canvas

Overall size: 23½” x 34” / 60cm x 86cm

Year of creation: c. 1940

Provenance: England

Condition: Very presentable. Areas of craquelure. Canvas relined.
