Often the success of a good landscape painting depends on whether it draws you into the scene. With this piece by Lebon, I can almost hear the water running as it cascades into the pond. The sound of the working mill gently rumbles away against the backdrop of beautiful rural scenery.
Lebon was self-taught but achieved a great deal during his short career.
The painting is signed in the lower left and housed within an appropriate gilded frame.
