Large Antique Oil on Canvas Portrait of a Gentleman

19th century
Description

A good quality and very decorative oil painting of a distinguished gentleman dating from the 19th Century. The painting is on canvas and is framed in a gilt frame.

It measures approximately 41" (104cm) high x 33 1/2" (85cm) wide including the frame.

The painting is in good original condition. There are signs of age, some surface marks and some slight crackling of the varnish in places and there have been two small old repairs but overall it displays well. There are some losses and small damages around the frame but the gilding is bright and it has a good aged look. The painting has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
