John Atkinson "The Horse Dealer" Watercolour

Description

John Atkinson was born in Newcastle in 1863. He attended Newcastle School of Art and, specialising in animal and landscape subjects, became a full time painter after regularly exhibiting at the Berwick Club, also in Newcastle. He exhibited widely at galleries including the Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, the Institute of Painters in Watercolour and at many provincial galleries and exhibitions.

"The Horse Dealer" is an attractive watercolour and gouache by John Atkinson measuring 9"x 12" and is signed lower left. It is mounted and framed into an old wooden frame giving an overall size of 16"x 19".
