A fine Victorian period oil on canvas hunting scene. The painting shows two horses having pulled up at a gate. The work is of a high level but unfortunately does not appear to be signed. The details of the horses are very well observed, particularly the grey. The painting has been professionally cleaned and some minor holes repaired. The painting is framed in a period gilt frame which is in good untouched condition, with some very minor areas of repair. The whole has a great period look and the canvas indicates it is quite an early painting of this type, which is ready to hang.
