Educated at South Kensington Schools and RA Schools.Exhibited from 1879 at the RA,SS,RSW and elsewhere.Elected ARWS 1883;RWS 1897.His paintings were purchased by Birmingham Leeds,Hull,,Manchester,Bristol,Preston and Blackpool,for permanent collections.’Unwillingly to School’, signed watercolour,image size 26x18cms,framed size 45x38cms.This is a particularly charming example of the artists work showing two children,probably brother and sister ,trudging to school in the rain.The younger brother has a particularly petulant expression which many children can possibly relate to,especially if it is the first day of school.Original period frame.
