A fine oil on artist board with the title ''A backwater on the river Trent near Anchorchurch Derbyshire'' by Percy Robinson. The painting is a beautiful landscape scene, exquisitely painted and observed. The work is signed and dated to the lower left: Percy Robinson 1908. Percy Robinson is recorded as a Leeds artist working and exhibiting between 1903-33. He had three works in the Royal Academy and also exhibited at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool. The painting has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. The work retains the original frame which has the original gilding gently worn in areas. The whole has a great period look and sense of tranquillity.
