A really nice quality silvered bronze of a pair of cranes , tail feathers in shakudo , with red enamel crest and gold and silver inlaid eyes .Standing on a burr wood base one crane having caught a well defined fish in gilt metal .These are Meiji period and far better examples than later Taisho cranes .Don has been dealing in Meiji period art for 60 years , exhibiting in London , New York , Baltimore , Miami and Shanghai.
