Description

This is a good set of three Chinese paintings in gouache on pith of exotic birds in foliage. The detail in the paintings is quite exceptional with very fine brushwork particularly to the feathers. The pith is in very good order; with some foxing to a couple of the works (see photos). The colours are bold and vibrant with fine workmanship. These date from around 1870 and are well presented in matching frames.

The paintings measure 40 cms by 30 cms, 37 cms by 28 cms and 37 cms by 26 cms overall including the frames.
