He became a member of the Société des Artistes Français and exhibited extensively with this group.
Guinegault painted many Orientalist scenes, but is best known for his paintings of women. He painted seductive nudes and portraits of fashionable ingénues. His style is very similar to the works of Jean-Gabriel Domergue, and his signature is also similar.
He illustrated several books including Heures Galantes. Quatre Poemes, by Jean Noury, c.1920.
