Description

An interesting study of five cows by German artist, Hemich Vitz (1915-1986). With a limited amount of brushwork and some clever impasto, Vitz illustrates the form of each cow. We love the way the ground is left to appear in several areas.

The study is housed in a simple wooden frame and bears an estate stamp on the reverse.

Overall size: 12” x 8” / 31cm x 21cm

Year of creation: c. 1950

Provenance: Germany

Condition: Very good with no issues. Frame with light age-related wear.
