A painting depicting a continental town square. Samuel Prout, 1783-1852 British watercolourist, master of architectural paintings. This particular example remains vibrant, with typical use of shadow in the scene. Signed lower right, remounted and framed some years ago in a cream line drawn mount within a simple moulded gilt frame. Dimensions are for the painting alone.
