Artist and signature: Inscribed under the mount, "Sir George Hayter 1792 to 1871"
This artwork came from a Private Collection of paintings. These include works attributed and by artists such as Attributed to William Edward Frost (1810-1877) Classically dressed maiden holding a garland of flowers in a landscape Signed and inscribed in brown ink "Mr Fred Allen with the artist's kind regards", mixed media, together with a collection of mostly figurative other sketches and works on paper to include "Gypsy Fortune Teller" by FW Topham, standing male nude by Dame Ethel Walker, two pencil sketches by Sir George Hayter - "The Flower Girl" and studies of cherubs, a figure group outside an inn reputedly by David Wilkie, and a standing classically draped male figure in the style of Gainsborough Dupont.......Some very interesting items.
