Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco miniature paintings from the 1920s often combine classical or mythological subjects with modern geometric framing. Influenced by classical antiquity and contemporary design movements, artists produced small-scale watercolour or enamel works featuring soft colour palettes and stylized figures.

These miniatures were typically painted in watercolour or gouache on vellum, card, ivory, or porcelain. Frames were frequently made from patinated metals such as pewter, bronze, or brass, often inset with glass cabochons, enamel accents, or semi-precious stones.

Authentic 1920s pieces usually display period-appropriate artist signatures, dates, or maker marks on the artwork or frame reverse. Examining the frame construction, natural metal oxidisation, and hand-painted brushwork under magnification helps distinguish original works from modern reproductions.

Small framed miniatures can be displayed on a bookshelf, styled within a curated gallery wall, or placed on a mantelpiece alongside period ceramics and glassware. Displaying the piece on a decorative easel or within a vignette adds visual interest to shallow wall spaces and shelving units.

Keep the miniature away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and fluctuating temperatures to prevent fading and warping. Dust the metal frame gently with a dry, soft brush or microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
