Wonderful Oil Painting of a Japanese Chin Toy Dog

A wonderfully cheerful and slighting comic oil on canvas painting of a toy dog. The dog looks to be a Japanese Chin toy breed which is very stridently stood amongst objects including boxes, a porcelain bird and a wicker basket. The painting is competently but slightly naively done and has a huge a mount of charm, the dog's face is a picture. The work is signed to the lower left 'Em. Robert' the painting is probably French and the artist is most likely a talented amateur. The painting is in good condition it has been professionally cleaned and a small hole repaired. The work is in an unusual vintage gilt frame that works well with artwork and gives it more impact. This is a unique painting that has some much charm and packs a decorative punch. C.1900.
