Arthur Karl Maderson (1942-)
His work is characterized by an energetic, aggressive brushstroke, and regularly features an array of bright contrasting colours. Born in 1942 in London, England, Maderson studied at the Camberwell School of Art there from 1959 to 1963. He received the Anna Berry Award upon graduation.
Maderson is primarily concerned with the depiction of light - a similar preoccupation of the nineteenth century French Impressionists. He exhibits regularly at the RA and the RHA and has been an award winner at the latter.
