A lovely orchard-scene, depicting blooming trees. Dating from the late 19th Century, there is a touch of art nouveau in this painting. I like the way the blossoms radiate like chains of lanterns!

The oil on panel, which was acquired in Lille n the North of France, is unsigned. Measuring 36 x 67 cm, the artwork is presented in its original gold leaf frame, which has however visible wear and repair to stucco and gilding. The overall framed size is 50 x 71 cm
