Early 20th Century French School Impressionistic View of a Parisian Square

Description

An early 20th-century oil on canvas depicting a view within one of Paris’ many squares. With an easy-going muted palette, the artist has captured the atmosphere perfectly.

We particularly love the flashes of green and red to highlight the brightly coloured shop fronts, as the remaining buildings blend into ochre.

How many figures can you spot?

The painting is signed ‘Graves’ in the lower left and housed within an attractive gilded frame.

Overall size: 21½” x 18” / 55cm x 46cm

Year of creation: c. 1915

Provenance: France

Condition: Very good with no issues. Canvas relined. Frame with a few losses including a missing piece at the bottom.
