Description

Large hand painted portrait miniature in the late 18th century English style, after paintings by Gainsborough and Reynolds, circa 1870.

Depicted wearing large black ostrich feathers to her hat over a hedgehog hair tower, the fashion set by Georgiana Spencer Duchess of Devonshire.

Her yellow silk satin floral embroidered dress is particularly ravishing.

In the original carved ivory veneered frame

All in very good bright condition with no damage or repair.

The frame 6,3/8" x 4,7/8" or 163mm x 124mm.

Weight: 210 grams

Guaranteed old and original.
