A characterful portrait of a middle-aged gentleman with a pipe. He’s wearing a heavy brown jacket with a waistcoat and tie.

It feels like he could be a professor or perhaps an art teacher...

Little is known about the creator, J Ringer, but they painted with confidence in a style reminiscent of the Bloomsbury Group of artists.

The portrait is housed within what appears to be its original frame.

Condition: A few scattered losses but otherwise fine. Frame with light age-related wear.
